Video: I Double Dare You To Find A Cuter Duet Than This One

they are a couple that has been matched by a number of random elements. He is a music composer with a dreamy voice. She is a young talent from Syria by the way of the United Arab Emirates. She just finished recording voice over songs for a popular TV drama about the life and death of Syrian icon Asmahan. Then she made this cute music video.

The sweet and super sensitive lyrics aside, the music video is just CUTE. While those two are not actors, they pulled the in love looks so convincingly. It's only natural for the music video to be uploaded by countless users. Waad released a good album where her vocal were put to a great use. Diaa keeps busy making melodies for the finest Arab pop stars.  This song was recorded in 2010, but got a wider release in 2011.

The director did a great job making this music video so cute, it makes you want to be part of the story as you watch ans see the games those in love must play. Filmed inside an upscale villa and you can feel the love from the eyes of those two. Furthermore, the saxophone player who worked on the song is worth his weight gold--thanks to Omran!

Please Help Make The Talented Omar Kamal A Mega Pop Star

His name is Omar Kamal and he is the song of the Suez City, not the hottest place for music, but he found his way to music when he studied in Cairo music institute. His first work came in 2007 with a single. Two years later Omar released his debut album with 11 tracks "Hasib Ya Qalby" translating to something like "My Heart Be Careful"

Then he went on to releases singles and through the FM Stars radio, his music reached larger audience. In 2011 after the revolution happened he released a song where he saluted the people of Suez who played a key part when the protest turned violent. The song was well received by his home city and was a radio hit. Which brings us to his follow album that you can see here, and is it Golden?

I love Omar Kamal, he is young but he is very talented. He sounds like his very own version of beloved Egyptian star Mohammed Foaud. Think of some of his new songs in those terms, the song is about a man and a woman who are in love, and who sacrifice love for a higher purpose. This is immensely appealing.

Omar keep going, the more you know about how the album was made, the more you respect it. With little help Omar Kamal is breaking out on his own terms. He is in control  the way he manipulate his voice to fit the song's style and mood is not an everyday experiences. I have fallen in love with the duet with new comer Yasmeen Salah.

The entire album is available here on Omar's account. Note how his song for Suez incorporates el simsymyah, a folkloric music instrument popular in that part of Egypt. He makes me want to go visit--I have passed by it at least four times, but never had a reason to stop by.

Listen: Amal Maher & Abdel Majed Abdallah - Lel Zein Ser / امال ماهر و عبد المجيد عبد الله - للزين سر

This is not just your average song, it's an epic track that lasts 13 minutes. A duet between two artists you would never see sing together, yet they came together for this odd pair song between the Saudi romance and pop icon Abdel Majid Abdallah and his peer from Egypt Amal Maher. This new song of theirs is like panting with words, they do get you to see something using nothing but words and your rich imagination.

Amal Maher seems to have locked in the best voices in Saudi Arabia, the legends. Last month she had a song with the elder of Saudi song Mohamed Abdo. This time she has teamed up with another talented Saudi super star. Abdel Majid Abdallah, not sure how they get to work together. Something tells me the song writer or poet gets to chose who sings their songs.

It's a sweet song that starts very slowly and then picks up 5 minutes into the song. I think the music could have been a little bit more exciting than what I hear. I like both artists, they are classy voices who have a brand and prestige. I do not see as a great song, but it has great elements and Amal Maher seems to be holding back. The title is true as all women will attest, "Beauty Has A Secret"

Stay tuned, the last bit of the song, you know for sure this is a wedding song, in the House of Saudi, there is a big wedding and the song picks the dance in the last two minutes.

WATCH: Tamer Hosny FT Akon - Welcome to the Life ( Behind the scenes)

Tamer Hosny might be doing American pop a huge favor, he is stimulating the economy by his big spending as he pays top names to collaborate with him. The latest star to charge Tamer Hosny a fee is American rapper Akon (by the way of Senegal) Tamer went to Akon's home and studio and we have the footage from the behind the scenes.

I think there is a new Tamer is town and he means serious business. I do not think he will ever become a global icon, not for his lack of trying, but he is already big in the Arab world. He has already singed with top companies who want to sell their stuff to Arabs. So his new duet with Akon might not do that much, other than adding to his resume.

I like Akon and think he is a smart business guy. Watch the two work together on the song as Akon tries to pick few words and they are working on a music video too. There are simply too many douche bags in this video who think they are all that  important.

I think this would be a fun project, I would ask Tamer, take it easy, save your money and go back to Nasr Mahrous--he knows how to bring the best in you and how to put you in a hit.

Hala Turk Sets Jalast On FIRE

The Gulf people like to have a good time, they spend loads of money on their parties, the good news those parties are so much fun as the people spare no expense to make them special. But the bad news only dudes dance on camera. Women can sing, but cannot dance.

Dudes, do not mind those Jalasat they mix with ladies within reason. But the guys are the only ones who can show off their dance moves--just like they do in Dupont Circle here. I have always wanted to be there for one of those sessions. The clip below from the biggest produced Jalasat assembly. Watch Hala Turk and Mashael sing their song in both Arabic and English.

Something tell me those ladies are not your typical Gulf ladies, they duo have a chemistry where they play mother daughter. You do not get many songs in languages other than Arabic, but it took this very cute and clearly spoiled girl to break the mold

The United Egyptian People's Song حميد الشاعري وعلاء عبد الخالق ومصطفى شوقي -انا مصر

The trip of Hamid El Shari, Moustafa Shawki, and Ala Abed El Khalik stole this month of March with the release of their new song, about the united people. They celebrate everything that brings them together and not worry about the things that pull them apart.

A sweet vocal treat from three guys whose voices we have grown enjoying. Hamid is the man behind this song, but the three performers rally around, we all worship differently, but the homeland is all ours. I wish the politicians would listen to this song and apply it in their work.

The music video makes it out and we get to see the best places and best things about Egypt, the song itself reminds us why this place matters. A serious song from three patriots comes in the right time.

Listen: Mothers Day Newest Song--Send Her This Song

Lebanon's heartthrob and pop star Saad Ramadan is out there romancing young ladies, but this time he slowed down and performed a song for his own mother, praying to God to keep her safe and sound. The dude really loves his mom, so he brought her along for the duet.

"This Life Is A Mother" is the title of this newly released song. It's a light song with some serious Arabic music, and they duo make it special--his mom really can sing. But Saad took the time to release this song just in time for Mother's Time. We Arabs mark this day on March 21 of each year. This is the first time a mother and a song actually sing together.

It's a cute song and the team of mother and son make it special  there are plenty of good mother day songs, this one is very lively and has a big heart, the guy is next to his mom and giving his best performance this year. Good choice for Saad, the ladies appreciate a man who appreciates on of their own.

The song has been written by Salim Assaf, Lebanon's most sensual song lyricists.

On International Women's Day Comes This Subtitled Dream

Women do not exactly have easy in Egypt, it's an observation from watching from the outside and the many dramas airing on TV today.

So this International Women's Day comes a song by one of the finest rappers Egypt have come to know Ahmed Zap Tharwat. He is the socially responsible rapper who promotes good virtue, patriotism and being good. And a first time guest or perhaps the main attraction vocalist Sherine.

Together they have a song about achieve one's dreams--mostly catering to women on their day of empowerment. The song puts to focus all the negative commentary and treatment women are subjected to in Egypt and beyond. They are not the only ones locking in the females. Some even make the case about the mistreatment of women even in places like America.

A song against violence, harassment, and discrimination. It's a smart song about women who want to take a challenge and make something new.  I dig the guitar and the many back stories the music videos brings to light.

Review: Tamer Hosny 2013 Album "Bahbak Enta"

You really have to listen to each of the songs in entirety because some songs change gears and keep you guessing what will happen next.

01. Bahbak Enta, simple techno music intro to keep things upbeat till this singing bird takes on the microphone to confess his love. I love how the song sounds like a plea right before it kicks off the party and shed a whole new Tamer mood.
02. Ya Ba5t Elly Hat7beh, this song was released in advance to hype up the album and it did the trick. A Romantic gem sing with a catchy Egyptian beat, a new song for Tamer who has done similar songs before. The topic might attract younger college aged listeners  not so much the family folks. A gleeful song with shades of romance.
03. Elly Rah, this is a winner song, we have never seen this wise Tamer Hosny talent before. He sounds grownup and sick of living with people who live do not give back. I am a fan and think Tamer landed a smashing hit, his emotions come through in genuine fashion.
04. Had Shabhoh, a sad about what could have been? a ballad that exists in each and every culture and tongue. Could we be reunited again? A song about the similar faces, and names we see in other people. The Deja Vu feeling we get when we see someone and think we have known them from a past life. A sweet song
05. Magnon Ana, Again, I love the intro, I could be hearing this song in some Latin area, or an area where street music is king. I appreciate how this song is made, it's fashioned in the American style of keeping things interesting and singing without singing. Lyrics are not that fresh, but as the song is catchy, you won't notice.
06. T3ala N3esh, Let's love is the title! I have heard this song from Tamer before. The sweet and gentle soul guy is back. I do not like those songs, but the targeted audience is not me. I do fine the music delightful and sophisticated
07. W Mn Ba3dy Eltofan, a happy song from a man who sounds if he lives without a care in the world. A balanced approach to dance and pop. I love the title, we care only for number one. I do not care how it all plays after me--do not care if the flood stroke. About being selfish in a relationship. The music is made right with incredible production.
08. Saf7a Gdeda, A new page is the title! Start over, and hope people won't call you out. The song starts slow, then it takes us into the inside of crazy club with the mix. A fun song for the live concerts, but Tamer slows it when he sings, then the song chances pace few times. I like 80 percent of the music, but loud is the norm.
09. 5alena E5wat, a song you play in dark night, when you are about to do something more private in an intimate setting. Here' comes the boom, the song is about "Lets' Be Friends Instead!" Who hasn't heard this before? I am not sure what to make of the song by a guy talking about another guy--he might be singing in the voice of a lady. Again, I have enjoyed this song and loved the story it tells and the simple lyrics if puts to good use.
10. Habet Etnen, the love triangle song, I do not like the logic, but life is illogical sometimes. The song has never heard before lyrics. A dilemma when you fall in love with two people at the same time. This is like taking a journey inside the mysterious minds of many people in relationship. I love how Tamer talks about pride and self-respect here. I like the distinct Egyptian melody, and something tell ms the fans would welcome them too. Could it be possible I have met the right person at the wrong time?
11. Ya Ret Terdy, a classical start, love the guitar strokes. A dreamy song from a guy who wants to forget the past and start a new page. A gentle song by a very emotional version of the artist with a great melody that comes painted in sorrow. This is a smooth track But will they forgive?
12. 3orba, Tamer Hosny has traveled the world and with that comes the feeling of being away, missing on somethings. This is the homesickness song that most of his fans who live abroad will find it amazing. He traveled and performed for them--came to the US, went to Europe and Dubai. He is apologetic for those who live away. Naturally, I like this song and I welcome Tamer Hosny in the expats club.
13. Ya Retoh Yestahel, save best for last, the song sounds like a video game, then Tamer Hosny walks in a parade with a guest--I now know it's her friend and guy with the Free Music lable Baha Soltan. Tamer has never big on duets, this is a good surprise. This is not a love song, a song about learning a lesson and marching forward.

Arabic Christmas Albums Are Coming From Lebanon This Year

Few months ago, Christmas season all over the world, and as everyone knows, it's not full blown Christmas until you start hearing that music. Lebanon is helping Arabs celebrate this lovely over commercialized holiday with music. In the past they had to listen to American songs, last year, they have received new albums with Arabic songs to help ring in the season

  1. Yara is finishing her All Christmas album, with six tracks and a feature song by Lara Escander. This is Yara's first album in more than three years. The songs are composed by Nizar Francis and music is the work of Jan Mari chi. We wait for this album to see if the music will make you want to shot yourself or not. The cover album will feature a Christmas tree and chocolate to celebrate this very happy occasion where happy memories for the little ones are shaped.
  2. Julia Boutrus is also doing an album of 10 tracks, she recorded it life with the orchestra in Prague. Some of the songs will be celebrating the Virgin Mary. Lebanese composer Michael Fadel is involved with the music and he has shared a photo of his work trip with Julia who has confirmed the news. There will be hymns and festive songs. This album seems like a great production. anything with live music takes itself seriously.

Jad Choueiri Helps Nesreen Bring It--Whatever It Means

Jad Choury directs halfhearted music videos, but when he sings he loses some people out there. He does push the envelop in his music video where sex and outfits triumph good art. But in fairness, good music rarely makes enough of money.

So comes the quick music video with a well placed and effective harmony definitely being a bonus the type of stuff the Beatles were masters of, song structure and rhythm progressions (good parts, good melody changes), and something a bit unconventional to grab my ears. But this is not Jad's specialty.

The overall vibe and feel of the songs he collaborated on. I am also a sucker for instrument harmonies usually on the more subtle side, but sometimes the more heavy handed ones work too. Mix all of that with some catch factor and you're in good shape in my books. He kicks off the song as if he opening for her, then she takes on the stage and gives him her answer--I used to love you, but now engaged.

Although, like I said, it's hard to describe. A lot of the songs I really love maybe have one or two of those only. Sometimes they're really simple. It all just depends. With Jad, you always get something to like and certainly haters gonna hate.

Palestine's Finest Raed And Ahmed Kabha Duet

Raed Kabha is one of the hottest pop/folk singer in Palestine. For a wedding singer who has done hundreds of weddings, he has done well having a career on the side as a mini celebrity. Checkout this song where Raed writes his son a letter about recording a new album.  They letter exchange could have been saved for something more serious like Ahmed going to school, but making an album is no huge deal.

It's a song for the son to show his love to his old man, "your voice is my guide dad" sings the young man. It's a low budget music video, a song meant to introduce the young Kabha to the broader audience that has loved his father for two decades. Some singers do not like their kids to take on singing as a profession, but the Kabha family has always been known for music.

The dad mentors his son in music, life and religion. It's all about having a blance in life.

The Orientalist Wet Dream Bulgarian Song

Being in some kind of desert, wearing some loose and bright clothes, dancing like a pro with Arabic alphabet creeping on the stage, tells me you know nothing of Arabs. But that should not stop you form making a good song. Dancing for this music video got all the right elements. I had no idea that people of Bulgaria cared for Arabic culture, but this music videos gives me hope.

This is a duet by two young and gorgeous Bulgarian songstresses. This is a song that sounds like the ones they came in places like Beirut and Dubai, the Bulgarian language does also feel a bit like the Arabic language for the untrained eye. The lyrics have a lot in common with Arabic songs lyrics  they might as well have been written by some lyricists from Egypt.

This is a music video by Petya Koleva Ivanova, best known by her stage name Preslava who is a Bulgarian pop-folk singer. She was born in Dobrich, Bulgaria. Preslava completed her musical education with the specialty ‘folk singing. She is the crown of Payner Music BG Stars. She was found for pop-folk music from Svilengrad's playboy - Milko Kalaidjiev. Preslava is from Dobrich and have studied singing there. Preslava had 4 albums created for Payner Music. Almost every songs from this snger becomes a hit. They made this singer a star from her debut. Some of her songs are: "Final words", "Bitter remembers".

As for Galena She was born in Smyadovo. She enrolled in music school in Shumen with folk singing. After 2 years she moved to a music school in Dimitrovgrad. 18 years old Galena made her debut video for the song "Can". On the fifth annual TV awards "Planet", in February 2007, Galena was awarded the prize "Miss Sexy 2006".

So, there you have it two great and talented ladies from the land of wonders take a shot at Arabic tradition and deliver a song to my surprise, Arabs would love. This is an ward winning young talents who seems to value other cultures, and for that she chose the Arabic culture  At first I thought this is some Hebrew attempt to claim another Arabic thing, but then I was wrong.

Preslava i Galena - Haide Otkaji Me.HDTVRip (Official Video)_-_by kibo_-_.mpg

Galena:
I'm walking on broken glasses
did i say that i would give up?!
I will prove u that i'm the woman
who deserves the most to be with u!

Preslava:
And i lived through your women
when u were losing,i was with u
When you were making mistakes,i didn't fear
did i say that i would stop?!

Do i have to stop?!I tasted you just one time
and the other tastes bitter, come on,make me give up
I tried to want some other (men),
but i want only you, make me give up
I tasted you just one time
and i don't wanna see nothing else, come on,make me give up
Try,but you won't make out
and no one could,no one didn't manage

Galena:
I've heard a curses for me
that i've swore your ex-es
And i was lying because of you and i was killing my soul

Preslava:
And i lived through your women
When you were losing,i was with you
When you were making mistakes,i didn't fear
Did i say that i would stop?!

Rola Saad Sabah Tribute Songstress

It's no secret that the lovely and golden girl of Arab light pop song pioneer Sabah is a huge fan of her friend and country girl Rola Saad. Together they made two duets and they were really well made. Rola never forgets her love and appreciation for the iconic diva Sabah.

I thought Rola Saad was going to play the role of Sabah form two years ago, but then Carol Samahe got the role. Yet Rola Saad is working on reviving one beloved Sabah song "Sa'at...Sa'at" a romantic song made in the 60s. Rola Saad record the song more than a year ago.

And just now she is making a music video for that classic Arabic song. There's a rumor that Sabah will share the screen with Rola Saad for the music video--something Rola rules out but maintains  this is a tribute song for Sabah and her rich career. The music video has been filmed in Beirut in three different locations. They will feature rare and never seen before images of Sabah and her career.

Samira Samira Said Tribute Duet

Samira Said is the subject of this new song. Samira Said, is a Moroccan songstress that has been making music for more than 30 years now. From Morocco, she came and Cairo she conquered! She might not have released a new album in more than four years, but she is working on one right now and she makes her presence known on TV by judging the "Sawt Al Hayat" or "Voice Of Life"

Two young fans of hers braved it out and made a homage song for her, one likes her physically, and the other likes her work. It's a duet by Kareem Foud and Najla El-Sharif, a tribute song in both Arabic and English for their diva.

I cannot name one singer I want to thank. They get something out of their making music for us, and we get something too. So, it's all a business transaction when it comes to it. But if you want to make a song thanking your idol--who am I to stop you?

Listen: The Comeback Girl اغنية وائل جسار وشيماء الشايب - فى قلبى صورتك | جديد 2013

Remmeber the girl that sang the famous Oum Kalthoum tribute songs in the late nineties? She was the teen who shaked the music market at that time and made her name by paying homage to other legends. She added her own flavor and touch on those timeless classics.

That's the story of Egyptian Shima El Shaib. But then she disappeared from the music radar. She was 15 years old and her mom is a an Egyptian legend Fatmah Eid, the one who has so many folksy hits. Shima was a fixture of the Egyptian music scene since she was seven years old. She is an award winning before she became an adult. She did release a solo original album "Ana Taibah" it wasn't the big hit her fans expected form her. The music production was not done right, but overall the album was satisfactory. She took a break until she finished her studies.

However, she is back with Wael Jassar in 2013 with this romantic duet. Her nostalgic fans have been through a lot, but they are ready to take her new song for a test drive. It's a sweet song delivered with such a delicate style, both artists sound very compatible and like the best of friends. Shima has a good voice, but now she needs to develop something to call her own as her voice naturally changed with growth. Wael, was a star since he was a kid, so he knows what it takes.

WATCH: The Arab Idol Trio Tribute Song ‫تريو عظمة على عظمة كارمن سليمان يوسف ودنيا

The two ladies and one guy who were finalist on Arab Idol are reuniting in a tribute song for the greatest names in Arabic music. They will be reminding us of some of the legends that have made Arabic music the way it's right now. Yousef, Carmen, and Donia are the trio behind this song....the song has been titled "Greatness Piled On Greatness"

The three young artists bring their best game to the song and they seem to be happy to take the center stage one more time. Each of them seems to have done well in their own countries and outside giving the circumstances, I think they have came a long way.

This is a common phrase Arab concert goers used to say every time, they are pleased with what hey hear during concerts with stars like Oum Kalthoum, and Abdel Halim Hafiz and their likes. A master version of this song has not been released yet, but sub-par quality versions have been leaked to the internet. I am dazzling.

The song has an Egyptian feel--which makes sense since the great majority of the stars are either from there or they have become who they are from Egypt. The music video has been filmed in Egypt, and inside the studio has been transformed into various styles from the different Arabic countries. This is one song, that will be something to look out for. It will be released in time for the start of the second season for Arab Idol.

The Postmortem Duet By Latifa And Late Amer Moneeb عامر منيب ولطيفة جيت علي بالي

She is a fine Tunisian and pan Arab songstress and he is one of the kindest Egyptian pop stars who is now dead. He passed away about two years ago, and it was too sudden. The late Amer Moneeb has a new duet released, and Latifa is the second act of this duet.

This was never released before and came out of sudden, catching Arabic music observers by surprise--just like the death of the other star behind this sweet romantic and cute love song. This song is a remake of an old song, it's a welcome remake because both artists sound loyal to the original song. Latifa's voice essence is a perfect paring for Amer Moneeb, this is a match made in music heaven.

Amer is the artist behind this hit song, and Latifa is his musical guest. Both stars deliver one of their most compelling vocal showings in a really long time. The song reminds us of this once celebrated pop star who was a top seller in both music and movie theaters.

Amal Maher Of Egypt Sings With Mohamed Abdu Of Saudi تفاصيل الجمال دويتو محمدعبده و امال ماهر

Legendary Saudi Singer Mohammad Abdu is out with anew duet where Egyptian diva Amal Maher is the vocal guest. The duo seem to be the best of friends  as they have sang before live and on records. Amal Maher is the jewel of Egyptian vocal strength and graceful style.

She meets the historic and prolific Saudi vocalist who might as well be the honorary king of the entire Gulf region. Together, the performed one hell of a song about beauty and those who are in its presence. Abdu remains one of the most active singers who branches out with this song to the bigger Arab market. Amal is a worthy entertainer to stand in his shadow....

She hold her ground and make one of the finest guests, no doubt she is a diva with a global name recognition  . This feels like a song made for a special occasion, like the wedding of Mohammad Abdu's little girl...hence comes the names. The song is written for a princess and having Amal Maher add her voice to the track make sure more people listen to it.

The song has well wishes to the couple, I cannot see the details on this song and the occasion, but it's a common practice for royal Saudi to celebrate happy occasion with poems that are turned into songs. The personal nature of this song. Though the name Noora canbe heard throughout the song, the name of Mohamed Abdu's older daughter whom he has written songs about in the past.

Rest In Peace Folks Music Legend Mohamed El Ezaby

At age 75 Egyptian folksy music legend has left this earth. On February 5th 2013, Arabia has lost one of its most entertaining and authentic voices, Mohamed El Ezaby. The Cairo native and better known singer who has took the folksy song of Egypt and made it into something one can see at the house of Opera. The iconic Egyptian singer own father was a well-known drummer who wanted his son to go to college. Ezzaby did, study business, and worked for the petroleum agency for a while before he landed on his singing career.

No one is able to tell better stories that he could, he told the country stories and made his fans want to go back and live in the old country. The singer have had a health complication and was being treated in one of the  Cairo hospitals. I know he has quit singing about two years ago. El Ezaby was on high demand, most concerts and cultural events and even some movies would seek him out. He is the all Egyptian voice, the story that never gets old.

Among his fans are people who have never lived in Egypt, but came to be reminded of home and mothers as a result of the ballad he told so well through his songs--many of whom are classics. Take in 2003 when he was on a duet with Lebanese pop star Diana Hadad (here). Also in 2007 he appeared in the Arab Dream Operetta, he actually kicked it off next to Legendary Wadei Safy (here).

Among the venues where he has performed is London's Albert Hall, Olympia Hall in Paris as well as dozens Arab stages. He was a personal favorite of King Hassan of Morocco. He married once and now is survived by three children, the oldest of whom is a dentist.

I came to know of the legend through my dad whom adores the man and so does my grandfather. The man who aged gracefully and kept his folksy voice. He started singing in 1954, then years later the radio picked him. He joined Rida band in 1957 and he kept much of the magic through out his five decades journey. He has also been credited in a number of films. His songs will never leave this earth, they will remain with us to speak volumes of this gifted entertainer.
