Listen: Ray J, Releases "I Hit Is First" Track On Kim Kardashia

Ray J, the R&B singer who co-starred in the sex tape with Kim Kardashian that launched her career, has released a  new song called “I Hit It First” about their love affair. He is no different than those jaded boyfriends whose girl goes on to do better things with her life, and then they feel the urge to make comfort themselves by singing how they were the first.

Certainly Kanye West is going to appreciate this.

This is an off the wall and perhaps tasteless, Ray J, the one-time paramour of reality TV sensation Kim Kardashian—who co-starred in the infamous Kardashian sex tape that helped launch the bodacious starlet’s career—has released a diss track called “I Hit It First.”

“If you would’ve come back to me, girl, I know just how you’d do me / And if you would’ve come back to me, girl I know just why you choose me,” he sings. “And if you would’ve come back to me, girl I’ll give you a Jacuzzi / And if you wanna come back to me, girl, we’ll make another movie.”

Kardashian, 32, briefly dated Ray J after her four-year marriage to music producer Damon Thomas ended in 2004. Years later, in Feb. 2007, a sex tape she’d made with Ray J in 2003 was leaked to the Internet. "I Hit It First" will hit iTunes April 9. Kim, for her part, doesn't seem concerned by Ray J's new song. Today (April 6), for instance, she showed off her growing baby bump on her

It's Slow Day, Here Are Two Whatever Music Vidoes

I have no idea who these two young performers are, and frankly I do not care all that much. I only know that they got to appear in this music video and I didn't. Pyramedia is turning itself int a hub that makes music videos on the cheap--just in studio shoots with the artists standing and acting like he is having a good time. Not great songs by any measure, but may be entertaining.

Meet Talal and Adel Haky, the two artists who will be pretending to entertain you and I want you to pretend to be entertained! Ok, I will tell you about Adel Haky, he is an Egyptian guitarist who has lived in Spain where he has mastered the guitar. He has made song songs with Arm Diab. Adel makes music for Disney movies--the Arabic versions. This time he is singing too

Cheesing Things Up With Saber El Rebai

I do not personally know Saber El Rebai, but I know that he loves a good cry or at least his songs lead you to believe. It's like he goes out in the world, finds the wrong people, falls in love with them. And then he comes to us telling his tale of how he was wronged  Maybe we can help him the first time, but the second times he comes it becomes harder and harder.

The only reason he shot to fame was become to his happy and dance friendly song Sidi Mansour of 2000, but then he started making romantic songs, they were great. But such songs do not have a great feel to them, you won't play them on your car or race to see them in a concert.

Saber visited the Tunisian song again and made a number of good hits, but he is looking for something more durable so he dabbling into composing songs and writing more hard hitting songs that will be among his legacy. Cool is good for ten years, and then you have to look for another job. Whatever it's Saber is still around, and he moonlights as a judge on the Voice.

Jad Choueiri Helps Nesreen Bring It--Whatever It Means

Jad Choury directs halfhearted music videos, but when he sings he loses some people out there. He does push the envelop in his music video where sex and outfits triumph good art. But in fairness, good music rarely makes enough of money.

So comes the quick music video with a well placed and effective harmony definitely being a bonus the type of stuff the Beatles were masters of, song structure and rhythm progressions (good parts, good melody changes), and something a bit unconventional to grab my ears. But this is not Jad's specialty.

The overall vibe and feel of the songs he collaborated on. I am also a sucker for instrument harmonies usually on the more subtle side, but sometimes the more heavy handed ones work too. Mix all of that with some catch factor and you're in good shape in my books. He kicks off the song as if he opening for her, then she takes on the stage and gives him her answer--I used to love you, but now engaged.

Although, like I said, it's hard to describe. A lot of the songs I really love maybe have one or two of those only. Sometimes they're really simple. It all just depends. With Jad, you always get something to like and certainly haters gonna hate.

Download: Mostafa Amar Finds God البوم مصطفى قمر - مولاى سبحانك

Egyptian King of pop Mostafa Amar has found good in his most recent album. The guy who usually sings dance and romance songs--he also acts went on a quest to find God in all things, so he came back with a nine track album which was released today.

While Amar has done religious songs in the past--timed for Ramadan, this one comes at a slow season where we are not even close to Ramadan. But all times are good times to release such work. He may have been inspired to release it for his kids as he is a family guy. Often times religious albums help preserve an artist legacy.

The thinking comes, if the artist has passed away, such songs will stick around long after he has gone and those are good deeds. I like that line of thinking. I am looking at the titles and those are are straightforward songs, some fresh titles. Some new songs and others are covers. Mazzika , the label which produces Amar's albums has put together this album as well. At those dark times in Egypt, it's so easy to find faith or lose it.

Those do not have to be long songs, I like what I have heard in the promo, Amar delivers some of his finest performances in really long time.

01 - Amien
02 - Alb El Rasoul
03 - Mawlaya Sobhanak
04 - Sobhan Allah

Maya Nehme, And The Girl In Love Song مايا نعمة كيف يا حب

I think of myself as a follower of Maya Nehme's music and dances. She is a talented across the board entertainer and it shows as she makes her own path in this crowded pop times. She is back with a romantic song which she released for the lovers out there. I did give the song a listen and it's a surprise from Maya who tended to make let's dance songs.

See, I have come to enjoy each of her very active songs where you get to dance from start to finish non-stop. It might be me that does not gravitate toward slower romantic songs, but Maya may have fans in the ranks who like such songs. I feel those songs are lacking something, the complexity of the human nature, such as the style of artist Pink...she loves but she can also kick ass.

I like the new angel she is working, it's like her song is playing in her head when she looks back at the past love stories she may have lived. I like songs where the artists does a self-assessment. I know I will be checking out her videos from her older live performances.

Listen: Angham 2013 And Many Single أنغام | لا تسرق الوقت من غيري (جديد)

Something strange has been taking places, Egyptian pop diva Angham released her fourth single in the month of February  She has been missing for few months, and when she wants to give us something new, she gives four awesome songs in more one Arabic tongue. She is noe the only one to do this this month, Assala has also done the same, releasing at least three singles this month.

I do not know what to make of it. It's like if they both took a break for two years and all of sudden decided to step up their efforts and release a number of songs that appeal to different fans. Both Angham and Assalah released romantic songs, and also songs in Gulf poetry....

The good news, those songs are all goof and I say, enjoy them while they last.

Donia Samir Ghanem, The Next Rock Star

Donia Samir Ghanem is an actress, both of her parents are famous across the Arab world for their acting. She is cool, hip and has a good voice. So, don't get surprised when you hear she is working on music project that will see an album. She did release two singles on the Free Mix album of 2006 which Nasr Mahrous produced.

I know, I am not the only one who thinks she has good voice. She can sell records, and so far she has released few singles, here and there. Most folks really want this album. Donia won't be the first actress to dip her toe into music. Donia has the honor of appearing more than one movie with the funny man and rapper Ahmed Mekky. She has also co-starred alongside Ahmed Hilmi in his latest comedy "X-Large"

Check out her single and live performance in a TV appearance. She ain't gonna be winning any awards, but she will make music that will bring joy in the lives of those who listen to her happy tracks. So far three tracks have been recorded and they will be added to the forthcoming album.

WATCH: Samo Zaen's Dark Valentine Song - Hat3raf / سامو زين - هتعرف

I do not hate Valentine Day, but I do hate Valentine Day lame romance songs. On this day everyone tries to bring out the best romantic version of themselves. Sometimes you really do not have it and you need to know that. Otherwise, we will suffer as a result of your lack of knowledge about your skill.

Samo Zaen kept talking about this song for more than a year, and now it comes out. This is not a love song, this is a depression inducing song. He is a fun guy whose fans make him feel like a million dollar. Egy[t hears him and so do the boys and gals there. While he had many good romantic songs in the past,  "Hat'eraf" his latest track is not one of them.

It's a slow song, perfect to dance your last couple dance right before you both go your separate ways. This is not a Valentine day, it's way too dark....I am guessing this is Samo Zaen's anti-Valentine day song.

P.S. Doesn't the new picture for Samo, make him look a little bit like Lebanese Waleed Tawfeek?

Dominique, Lebanon's Most Insecure Star دومنيك حورانى - بطل فيي

Some pop stars work hard to give us good music, others talk about themselves and self-promote while forgetting that being famous is not that dazzling. I think of this when I read the latest round of interviews where Lebanese beauty, model and singer Dominique Hourani speaks about her hot body and how much she enjoys busting the guys egos and breaking their confidence.

She released perfect photos for herself and most of those pictures she releases are focused on her good look, sexy legs and fancy outfits. She also has bizarre opinions about marriage -she is sort of neither married nor divorces and has a baby girl. She claims to have done photo shoot for playboy, but she insists she kept most of her clothes on.

While powerful females figures are welcome in today's world, those who like to pretend to be so, are unwelcome. My general rule of thumb, if you are the only one talking about how hot you are, chances are you are not that much. She is a celebrity, a well known B list pop star with not a very good voice. Her voice is not the kind that's made for singing. "I Like to torture men" is one of her most known quotes.

But she has had few songs where her voice is pretty good, strong and sometimes sexy. And there is the song below, where I feel her voice is all over the map. Her new single lacks focus and can be boring for some ears. Dominique Hourani meant to make a romantic song for Valentine  but here I am standing in confusion about this songs's heart. There are certain things people cannot take away form Dominique Hourani , her looks and her high are a plus. Her voice is not meant for a singing career....she is neither a hot ticket in Egypt, nor at home.

Listen: اغنية رامز جلال - الخصام ممنوع | Ramez Gallal - El Khesam Mamno3

This annoying TV presenter and actor has just impressed me in a good way. His movie is out on DVD, it's a funny movie and has a funny poster...but what stole the show is his song for the movie. His voice is alright, but what is good overall song. Ramez Gallal had the sickest show in Ramadan where he abducts celebrities and terrorists are involved it was really sick show.

His sweet voice is surprise....I thought he would make a silly song with too many punch lines that kill the song's mood. But he seems like he is using soccer as a metaphor for his love game with the lady he has fallen for. I like this style....the music is not the greatest, but it's upbeat...Another reason why this song is a hit might be explained due to the popularity of soccer. He blended soccer and love in one catchy song.

I think he just made amends with the fans....I will be watching his movie really soon and hope it was funnier than his last movie that felt flat.

اغنيه يارا تبدأ حكايه Listen: Yara 2013 Single مقدمه مسلسل لارا

There's yet another new Turkish Soap Opera that has been dubbed in Arabic to appeal to the droves of Arabs glued to their TVs. The show's name is "Lara's Choice" or "Lara" and surprise, it;s a love story. But the good news, they have tabbed Lebanese songstress Yara to do the theme song.

Yara, sounds like she is a younger version of Fayrouz, I am sure she would be happy to know that. There's only one Fayrouz, but I am feeling like Yara is following in her steps, this song is another testament to that conclusion.

The song has a good melody, and it tells the beginning of a story....and coping with sadness as we march in life. Yara can always have our love if she does those songs, we lived her for them when she begun her career in 2005. She has lost some when she changed her dialect for pay.

Coca Cola Egypt Gets Political اغنيه امير عيد و عايدة الايوبى - اضحك

For a lady who has quit singing, Aida Al Ayoubi makes a lot of songs. She should make songs, she is the blast form the past, the warm voice that forever will go with us when we think of home. Ever since she has that popular song that went viral about the new Egypt and she has make a half hearted comeback.

She has record a duet with Cairokee a year ago, and now she has another song with them, but this time their song is going to be used to sell Coca Cola. They have titled their song Laugh, about us being care free and let life do its thing. No one believes in Coca Cola, they believe in the huge paycheck they receive once they sell out their fans to a soft drink company.

It's not a full song, just about 60 seconds of positive, optimistic and sunshine filled track about life and the joys one finds. Something tells me this duo is not done, they seem to be quite fond of one another's signing style and what each has been able to accomplish. They are both uniters not dividers of their people.

Mohamed Metwaly, Light Soft and Creamy Pop

Mohamed Metwaly is a handsome guy who has a dapper voice enabling him to do dreamy romance for the ladies. He is a pop voice, and he got the looks working out for him. I am not too keen on those kinds of songs, but there are people out there who appreciate a good looking guy who finds it in his heart to talk about being in love.

Pyramedia is helping get the young singer out there with the release of his album and singles. I do like his haircut and his smooth style. If you are young and looking for something entertaining then the Metwaly is the next stop.

I do not think he might be a delight to bring to your party and have them perform there. He sounds like his heart in the right place.

Amir Yazbeck Knows His Lips And Lipsticks

Amir Yazbeck likes to flirt with them ladies, he does not mind talking about their body parts he happens to like. I am not a girl and do not claim to know what it means, but the guy seems to have built a career on such songs.

Comes now his "Ich Liebe Dich" He has made a duet with a new comer Walid Awad, together they want to make the ladies feel loved. These two singers might get away with this stuff because they are good looking. If you are butt ugly  do not even try.

Lela Al Maghribyah With Kittens and Romance ليلا المغربيه - رومانسي

Morocco and Pop go hand in hand, plastic surgery pop has a home it's called Beirut. But Lela could care less about that, her latest single flies over the Gulf and flirts with their songs, as she has chosen to perform a song in that dialect. The Gulf has always been kind to the female singer form Al Maghreb  since the 70s to be exact.

Lela joins a very long line of Moroccan who move their careers to the Gulf area where there are countless poets with a lot of money to fund music videos.

She lives in a villa with a handsome dude who makes her breakfast as she workout. He leaves her messages on the mirror, moves the chair for her and all the fine details. Do not forget the tons of expensive gifts he purchases her. Seriously, where did she find this guy?

It's not a bad song, but it's far from being perfect. It's a pop song that the artists wanted to share with us. Good lyrics, but the music videos lives in an alternative universe.

Egyptain Activist Ahmed Mousa Channels His Frustration

Using religion is a mean to suppress people is nothing new, but using it for political gain is as old as time itself. A young and passionate singer--one of the activist types has anew song where he whispers about those few ruling Egypt. He thinks they are using religion to get more power.

This is a sober song form a frustrated soul who is not angry yet. Anger is the last thing Egypt needs, certainly not from its artists. This is a slow song with a slow and simple melody. The sound mixing keeps it interesting. Ahmed Mousa wrote the music but the lyrics where written by Dr. Salma Salem. I guess the song also talks about freedom of the press as well.

This is no award winning song, but it feels to have come form the heart as if the artists put a picture of people who have been killed protesting and tried to speak from their vantage point.

Is Pop Star Hamaki Overrated?

I am not feeling him anymore, it might not be him it might be me. Hamaki used to be one of the hottest pop stars in Egyptian arsenal, but I feel his last album was rushed and sounded about the same musically. As for the lyrics they are a repeat of what we have heard before from Hamaki and others. The album did not feel fresh and felt like it has been made for those who are 17 to 22 years old.

But the singer released a new single which he added to his album's second release for better marketing. This was promised to be a hit. It's a popular song as I see it around the internet and on the file sharing community. But I feel it's missing something. In fairness, I did not think it was right for Hamaki to sing for Bahrain when people where murdered down there. But I am sure he now regrets the song.

What do you guys think of Hamaki? I have included the the song to give you a chance to listen to it, if you have not already. I am sure he will make good and fresh songs again, but I give him that it's really hard to make good music under the current circumstances in Egypt.

WATCH: Zay Elasal - Marawan Khoury Ft. Kareen زى العسل - مروان خورى وكارين

Kareen is getting a lot of help from a super star and talented across the board Marwan Khoury. It might be that he is a fan of hers or that he is looking forward to help her in the hopes she makes it big. This time they met on the popular show Celebrity duet--that comes with a noble cause.

The performance won two "yes" votes and one harsh "no" Kareen Riziq Allah. I feel the performance was missing that elegance and strong voice that express emotions and that fire within. Kareen does have a sweet voice, but I do not think she is ready to do those covers--they do not work for her as of right now. Plus the outfit might not be perfect for a song that takes us back in time.

Marwan has a lot more experiences that Kareen and he felt comfortable, Kareen was out of depth. But compared to the people on the show she is a rare gem.

WATCH: Sabine Unhappy Wedding سابين - ليش زعلانة / فيديو كليب

Sabine is that  a pop songstress in Lebanon whose career has not taken off, she is the name recognition in Lebanon--maybe just Beirut. She has no trouble getting booked for TV interviews and media appearances. But she is now branching out and reaching for the Gulf market. Young people and college kids seem to dig her. She has won the Murex D'or as the best upcoming Star.

She is doing that by following the oldest trick in the books, recording a single in the Khaliji accent and on top of that a music video. Her music video is a sad one, she is not feeling the love from the guy she is marrying. Sabine might be challenging herself here and sending a single for others to take her seriously. A song in a wedding white dress may just do that for the young and multi-talented songstress.

I worry that this song won't help her get gigs in the Gulf market. Why? Here's  my take, most well paid gig in the Gulf countries are for weddings--happy ones. Sabine has a song about a really sad wedding and a tortured soul. Maybe that would be a bad omen. But to her credit, this is a new song that might help define her==she can sing seriously.
