Which Arab Celebrities Are Faking It?

I keep a list of entertainers in the Arab world whom I think are fake. That means those individuals are not what they seem to be. It's a shoe for your money. I have few names on the list, but I won't share it. I just wanted to ask you guys, what Arab stars guys or girls do you guys think are fake?

It's one thing to be tasteless and successful, it's another to try to sell your act in public and then in private do the exact opposite.

In music, movies, TV dramas, and show hosting who doesn't agree with you? This is not about someone you guys think to be bad persons, but rather about a star who seems to be faking it. Sure, you can tell me what stars you cannot stand seeing, but no need to get personal. Just the name.

This will be an experiment, so I hope it works.

Amr Diab And Family Relocate To London

Amr Diab does not talk to the press, and he conducts his business in a very serious fashion. But news broke out about this iconic Egyptian singer moving to Dubai with his family  Now we learn he has moved to London to live there with his kids who have enrolled in school in that city. I have read this report on a number of news sites. It's a fact that the pop star has been living in Dubai for the past few months with his family.

For starter, the move to London could be a rumor, so Amr Diab gets attacked and then he comes out telling everyone in Egypt, "I would never leave this country, it's like my mother" Which will make his critics look bad and making himself look like patriot in those troubled times.

In case those news are true, Amr Diab will always be the king of pop, but he does not have to have a good name to do that. It seems his business plans and his trouble with some of Egypt's finest composers and lyrics over his contracts is not ending anytime soon. He has won the battle and for this reason he might want to stay way from the spotlight, he is by virtue of partnership now working for the loon Rupert Murdoch now.

If this is true, such actions are slap on the face of the Egyptian talents business and music labels that have helped Amr Diab and carried him during his 30 year career.  It seems Amr Diab is no longer interested in helping the music scene in Egypt thrive, his focus seems to be away from his motherland.

Celebrities Are Now Hanging Out On Google Hangout

Arab celebrities are embracing Google Hangout, where they will be both on radio--old media, and on Google hangout--new media to talk to their fans. The fans can talk about too. This is kinda of cool and a lot of people are looking forward to using this technology to connect with their favorite star.

Too bad, most people who are spending a great time online are people with little social skills and nothing to do in their real life. The virtual world is much kinder to those poor souls. But this time, they get one hip star who actually can speak about other matters other than music, and he is Mahmoud El Esseily.  Amal Maher who does not give the press enough time, will give you the fan some time to hangout with her in the virtual world.

This Hagnout technology might be pretty cool, and Google is up to something good with it, the US president has already used it to spend time with his fans online. The first Arab celebrity to do a hangout session was the Lebanese songstress Myriam Faris.

Vintage Libyan Song By Mohamed Rasheed

There was once a vivid music scene in Libya, in fairness just like desert dwelling communities, music has always played a part of the folklore. Libya is no different. One of the pioneer in the Libyan music is the gentleman with the name Mohamed Rasheed.

I have tried to dig up info on this singer, but I have failed. I have included one of his most famous songs. Most Arabs would call this song part of Al Fan Al Seel which means authentic art. In the post Qaddafi world, more people are reconnecting with their heritage--the dictator did not like to make celebrities and hated to have any rivals in any field.

"The heart doesn't/won't forget you" is the title of the song. I suspect the song is form the 60s?

Picture: Sabah "Janet Feghali" Is Alive, Well And Looking Good

The legendery blonde and actress and songstress Sabah was mising for more than a year, and she had to fight rumors of her death--she must have been killed in newspaper tend of times. But the reality is much more rosey. She is alive, looking good and spoke to the media just few days ago.

The picture was taken in her most recent press appearance. She spoke about current events where she is not thrilled by what she sees. she prays the Arab people will be safe and protected when the dust settles. She also spoke about TV shows, her career and much more.

Did you know that Gamal Abdel Nasser was not a fan of hers early on her career, but then she has manged to make a convert out of this iconic leader.

Did you know for example, she has performed in the most prestigious theaters around the globe?  Carnegie Hall in New York City; Prince Albert Hall/ Taj Mahal in London. Casino Lebanon, Al Andlus Hall in Kuwait. Olympia Hall /Palace De Sport in Paris and so many more venues and halls around the world. Including Las Vegas- a city she loves.

Maya Diab, Energy Drinks And Car Drifting @ The Dead Sea

Not sure how much Maya Diab knows about cars and racing, but she just made an appearance in a Jordanian car rally near the Dead Sea. Maya was the celebrity all the boys wanted, they wanted fast cars, a strong female celebrity and a lot of energy drinks. Maya brought her high sense of outlandish fashion to the event and mingled with the folks who like to think of themselves as being sporty.

I am sure that energy drink hired her to come to Jordan for PR. Maya has turned her short living career into a business enterprise for product endorsement  To her credit, she cannot help that stupid guys are crazy about her and about all her fashion and otherwise stunts. Chevy had the time for their life as their car stole the show. I can say this, while I do not care about people putting their lives in danger for no real value, I would still feel bad for them in the event they die.

Stupid young people and their unlimited love for all things fast, I do not get the crazy over that energy drink, I do not see a need for it. On the upside, Jordanians may be out of work, but they would never doing things like car racing and obsessing over celebrities. Jordan is a great place, but socially, you find girls who want to be boys and boys who speak and act like girls.

"The Best Musician Smile" Goes To Youssra El-Hawary

Youssra El-Hawary is an indie voice from the emerging music scene in Egypt. There are so many young Egyptian musicians who have no contracts yet they make good music and perform on stages and theaters around the country. No more, do they have to seek permission from a political entity. They can be all indie and they have no obligation to make pro regime songs.

Youssra El-Hawary stood out to me because she is among the few--if any Egyptian singers who hold an accordion as they perform their songs. The accordion or how I like to call it, the squeezebox is a box-shaped musical instrument of the bellows-driven free-reed. Yousra El-Hawary also has a sweet smile, that I hope she will always have reasons to smile this genuine smile of hers makes a great interactive music experience so much better.

Her songs are often humorous, satirical and entertaining.
