The Hallani Family Business Is My Business

For a guy whose wife and his daughter have no Arabic names, it's pretty gutsy for him to claim he is some Arab knight. And his own daughter sings in English and talks about her Canadian citizenship. Might as well be a non Arab people. But wait, I doubt she speaks a sentence without dropping a French or English words in the midst.

And I am sure she did not go to an Arabic school. But enough about Assi Hallani and his family. I like real people who tell it as it is. It might speak more about Lebanon and its Beirut district. I get this Assi has a strong career, but why does his daughter have to be an accomplished songstress? Are the parents pushing her?

I think she can have fun doing those acts in here and there, but does the family need any more money? Or any more fame? I do not hate or envy success  I just do not take kindly on those who claim to be one thing and live and act in a different manner at home.

WATCH: Sijal Hachem SExed Up - Khalas / سجال هاشم - خلص

50 Shades of Grey might be the talk of town in America  but Sijal and his sexy lady copes are the talk of those fitly boys. Women in short uniforms with authority turn some people on and he did all that in Lebanon in a music video about the battle of the sexes.

Got no idea what's the message of this random music video, but the dudes are taking it seriously as those oversexified police women take a stand. Models dancing on cars is nothing new...but I do like the line about her grandfather traveling via jackasses not fancy rides.

But it gets worse and never gets better. This is a dance song about a guy who goes bankrupt because he gets his woman all she wants. I have never seen cops stripping, in real life.I weep for the sext interrogator portion, it makes it look fun. No woman would find anything of value in this very stereotypical music video where women are the entertainment.

Models Washing Dirty Bikes On A Lebanese Beach

If freedom and democracy means getting young women to wash bikes for men as they stand by watching, I want no part of that. In Lebanon over the summer, some modeling agency and a bike shop held an event on the beach--a family friendly beach. Where dozens of bikini wearing skinny foreign girls danced to a loud beat as they pretended to wash already clean bikes.

The stupid marketing people, do not have to think anymore. Sex is their answer to any challenge they have. So when they wanted to amuse their demographic, overweight men with small private parts, they brought them the models to dance wearing next to nothing. Motorcycle agencies are trying to make a run for the Middle East. I hope those women showed up to their work and looked like they were having fun on the beach. I am certain their parents are proud of their child being objectified

The good news the modeling agency is run by a well-spoken woman who is taking about her girls. The even organizer says, his event is creative. I disagree. Anyhow watch this lame video form Lebanon, a country that learns all the wrong lessons from the Western and Eastern Civilizations.

Arab Idol Second Season Should Have Waited

The team behind Arab Idol second season, should have waited till the X Factor rapped up. Arab Idol now has Nancy Ajram, and it's a big deal. But news about it has been buried as the demographics are too consumed with X Factor now.

Arab Idol is a fine show, do not know what Hassan El Shafi there to do, but the show is a serious one and has done well for those three who have finished on top of its first season. Perhaps the biggest story from the show was when this crazed Haifa Wehbe fan from Iraq took on the show and shocked people of how strange things can get.

Myriam Fares Parents Must Be So Proud Of Their Little Girl

I often wonder how do families of pop stars that overdo it on using sex as a marketing strategy feel about them. I am certain there's double standards, women are much easier target and i should not really be that way. I know I am mindful of that, and pick on guys as much as i do on women who make a bad music video or focus on the sex part and not the entertainment.

One curious case is the Lebanese songstress Myriam Fares. She has sold her body parts on camera, look no further than the way most of her music videos are filmed, Myriam does not tell the director anything off limit and she gives them what they want. Boobs, ass shots are abundant with any music video of Ms. Fares.

I really wonder how do her family members or her parents particularly feel about it. I know some of those people can look the other way if their son or daughter buys them stuff and gives them money. Myriam is a bright entertainer with a nice voice and a sweet personality. Maybe she is a good person and we are the bad ones pushing her to show more skin, bigger cleave.

One Tunisian Rapper Arrested For Trashing The Police Weld El 15 البوليسية كلاب

Some Tunisian who sang against the police rests in jail right now. His song was titled "The Police Are Dogs"--think Pigs in America. His song takes a creative approach at insulting the police and he was nothing but harsh words for the police force in Tunis,

Many young people in Tunis are pissed of at their government and from the comments they post, they seem to want to break free. Weld El 15 is the artists behind this song. The Tunisian Ministery of Interior has arrested a young man and unidentified woman, they await to see a judge. This has taken place south of the capital and they are investigation the incitement and defamation the song calls for against the government and the police.

I think, people should be free to speak their minds, but even in free societies there are limits...try to mock a police officer, call him a name of give him the middle finger here. You will not be happy. I wish the artist well, and I want him to be free.

The Now Offensive Bassem Yousef With Sex Jokes

There was a time when Bassem Yousef used to be a folk hero and a guy who told jokes by grilling the lame media. He had a good run, and we loved him for it. When he started worrying about the money, he had to watch the rating of his program. There are very few things one can grill in public, but now he has gone to great length to insult the collective IQ of his followers.

I for once, do not watch the show and can no longer stomach the guy--I like to point out that we are the first blog to write about him. But now he is in trouble with his fans. This time, Bassem joked about sex, sexual harassment and failed to make a point. I do not watch his show, but I read about it when it makes the news. There's nothing with using sex to tell jokes, but this is something often reserved for adult audience in a private club late at night.

I present some of the comment via his programs official Facebook page. The comments take issue with his language and crass humor. Some have accused his critics of being members of political groups that he often ridicules

--Low life and crude.

Tattoos, Beef Cakes And New Singer Zayne

The problem with having a common name in Arabic (or any other) music, is that there are so many of them out there. If we have a last name, things would get easier. This is what I had to go through to search the artists with the name Zayne in the clip below. There are half a dozen artists with that name.

This guy spends a great deal of him time at the local gym where he likes to press the bench...now he also wants to sing. And for that we must bear with him as he gives us a tour of all the cool places mapped in ink on his bud.

this silly season indeed. the promo almost makes fun of itself. Maybe I am wrong maybe all those kids who watch American shows are up to something. This could also be an ad spot for a gym where UFC fighters get tough. I like creative material and this can go either way, so till we see the music video, we are out of luck

Video: Silly People Talk About Silly Things #TheVoice

Assi Hallani was laughing when Sherine was walking on the stage and she fell to the ground. People did not appreciate Assi laughing when Sherine was falling on the live recording. But Assi would not let that one go, so while on The Voice, Sherine took a minute to defend Assi Hallani.

Sherine said, he was checking her out as she was walking on the stage and then she fell to the ground. Superstitious people do not like these things. So in one way he jinxed Sherine who was looking like a million dollar. The show host tries to interjects and say what seems to be like funny stuff on his mind.

While people are being murdered as the show films, Assi was trying to speak Egyptian in a pathetic attempt to look popular as he was talking about Sherine's good looks. This is really lame because at first, Assi said he and Saber El Robaei were laughing at something else when Sherine fell. Now he admits he was laughing about the fall, but in a nice way. I hope they all fall from grace.

Jimmy Amar, And Who Is The Real Father Song

Amar, the songstress from Lebanon had a baby out of wedlock, she named him Jimmy and she sued the alleged father who is a business mogul. Jimmy, the father counter sued and refused to take the parental test. Then some low key drummer turned out and said he is the father of that little kid.

But before this had happened Amar had made a song for her son, telling hims she loved him and that the no good father of his refuses to admit his linage to him. No one really knows who the father ids, I still think the business man may have to confess that he is the secret father, and that guy was paid to play the role of the father.

Amar is back in business as she starred in a movie this year few months ago in a forgettable film that makes some quick cash.

Assi el Hellani, Is It Time To Go? عاصي الحلاني - مصيبة

This is one disposable and market-driven song by the glowingly boring pop star Assi el Hellani! He is already overstretched, and this Khaliji song of his has the word stinks all over it. Not to mention the model is in his own daughter's age. I can understand wanting to live forever and look your best, but at least do not make it obvious that you are trying too hard.

Seriously, where is his face this guy? where does the real Assi begins and the botox shots end? I freaking find no flavor in this music video, and now the title is funny in a bad way. The song's title translates to Disaster, and this is is the one word that can describe this witless dim song.

I thought Assi want us to think of him as the serious voice form Lebanon. While he is a big talent, his talent has been out of touch lately and I mean like four years. Where's his soul? I can understand wanting to be out there right now, but with this song?

I realize I might not be the intended target for this dull song, the Gulf is. But is he is a huge draw over there? I mean do locals in places like Saudi Arabia, and Qatar find him appealing?

WATCH: Akmal - Msh La3eb / كليب اكمل - مش لاعب

Akmal is one of the Egypt' average pop star, but unlike the many average singers, he is releasing a new music video. This song was released in 2011, part of his album, it was the best song on that album. The dance beat is pretty refreshing.

So he filmed a music video for that A song, it seems like your average night club with the chunky belly dancer. The music video won't win any award, it's really nothing special, but Akmal wanted to be out there and get his name on in the concerts and parties roaster.

Saudi Sex Symbol Tomy Omran Pressured To Give Up His Passport

Also read "A Saudi Shows His But, Saudi Arabic Freaks Out"

For a country that has a hard time with sexuality, a country where most of its people have to leave it to go on fun trips that involve so many acts they are unthinkable at home, the Kingdom has a funny way of telling people how to live their lives. Saudis would admit in private of their double standard and pi-polar attitude about sex and sexuality.

The American born Tomy Omran has had enough with the attacks and name calling from people living in Saudi Arabia where his family comes form. Tomy is very proud of his family, and his last name, but it seems people in Saudi Arabia have a limited understanding of what it means to be a Saudi. That means you can do fun stuff away form the camera and not on camera. It seems that a picture of Tomy's passport was leaked to the press where his name has the famous Al Saud last name--which makes him a royal in that kingdom.

His old man told him not to use his last name, so the California born young man who has shoe the Arab world by posing close to nude for a Greek beach magazine. He is now had enough and wants to give up the problematic side of him--he won't call himself Saudi anymore. So Saudi men can feel good about their reputation in the world as pious worshipers in public and party animals and first rate club goers in private.

He made the announcement on his tweeter account  @Tomyomran that he will be giving his citizenship for his own peace of mind. Tomy has been accused of being a foreign agent and spy whose mission is to destroy the conservative Saudi society's image. Rumor has it that one Saudi princess is among his biggest fans and supporting him to stir the debate on freedom and expression in the Kingdom. I think this might be the right call giving the lame attacks on Tomy. At least he is an American and they cannot harm him no matter how they try.

Tomy denies those connections and asserts that he is trying to give Saudi Arabia a makeover as more and more people talking about this former Saudi talent, he has gotten the world media to take notice of his provocative songs and choices.

Tamer Hosny's Family and The American Citizenship

Egyptian pop star and bad boy Tamer Hosny is in trouble with the media at home. The reason? He took himself, his expecting wife and moved to American for at least four months where he will be attending to some business arrangements he have. I am certain he will be recording and filming stuff during the duration of his trip to America.

Tamer Hosny is expecting a bay girl and it seems the time of the birth will come during his stay in America--which will mean his daughter will be born in the United States. That means she will be an American citizen. If this happens, it's neither against the law of either the US or Egypt. It's only illegal if there are an organized crime and deception going on. This is because some Asian and other international folks organize trips for certain pregnant women to give birth on this American soil.

Back to Tamer, the media in Egypt has shamed the artist for such a move--first he dodges the army, bad mouths folks in Tahrir Square and showed Hosny Mubarak with praises. Then he leaves Egypt seeking another citizenship. Tamer is aware of those reports and has issued a press release, "My wife and I are in the US for business, she may and may not give birth here, but I have contracts that I have singed where I am under obligation to be in the States", he added "For me the Egyptian citizenship is better for me and for my little girl"

This press release says all the right things, and I am sure the US official would be happy to hear him making it vague. I tell you what, Tamer you are doing the right thing, and folks back home in Egypt would do the same if they had the means, they just like to fool themselves with such nonsense. But you also do not have to seek the American citizenship for you girl. No one will force you to get it for her, you can chose to do that.

So as for the media loudmouths, they can suck it, Tamer is not doing something you would not do for your kids--give them a chance at a better life. I have come to learn people in Egypt just hate his lovely Moroccan wife Basma Boussil--many women do.

@adctweets For The GOP, Being Arab Is Controversial

Ever since the embarrassing loss of the 2012 elections, the GOP is wondering how they can win over minority voters. I feel that they are genuine and well meaning in their quest to widen their base and attract those voters who have traditional sided with the Democrats.

Yet when the GOP and its loudmouth media has a chance, they insist on giving such communities the middle finger. I see this as I read the nutty reports in conservative publications. This week, right-wing media outlets aggressively harassed the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC), a group I have worked for in the past, to release video footage of Chuck Hagel, President Obama's pick for Defense Secretary, speaking at their convention in 2008. ADC has changed offices (naturally they have storage space), gone through personal and leadership change since that date. The videotape in question was in the storage along with the archive.

It seems that reports for online publications like Free Beacon, Fox News, Breitbart.com, and The Weekly Standard have been waging their own war against a civil rights groups that was founded in the 1980s by a retired U.S. senator who wanted to combat discrimination. It appears as if those publications are giving themselves the right to be hostile toward ADC, and its employees, as they try to uncover yet another conspiracy they have cherished. The spokesperson on behalf of ADC, Abed Ayoub, told the press, "They came to our offices -- threatening us, demanding information, arguing with security. They got very abrasive, very aggressive.. IIn fact, the FBI was in here last week because of those type of threats."

When ADC found the video they placed it on their website, but the joke was on those right-wing extremists who found nothing controversial in the video. Instead, those seeking a scandal found Hagel having an intimate conversation with American voters who come from places like Michigan, New Jersey, California, Virginia, and other places who want to be informed about their government. His broad-themed speech emphasizes activism and the importance of America’s role in the world. ADC has worked with a number of US administrations where they have enjoyed cordial collaborative efforts with various government agencies who have come to appreciate the work ADC does on behalf of its constituents.

Perhaps these conservative voices are upset with former Senator Chuck Hagel because he was able to do something they have not figured out how to do: speak to people from a background different from their own. Senator Hagel has been attacked over and over merely for speaking to Arab Americans. Most GOP leaders invited by the Arab American groups do not bother to come, and I am certain Arab Americans are not the only minority the GOP bails out on. Frankly, this is a prime example of their exclusionary tendencies and the GOP needs to know this by now. The good senator from Nebraska was doing what the GOP, now four years later, is talking about doing: talk to every American.

Such ill-advised media campaigns, orchestrated by xenophobes, racists and misguided talking-heads, are aimed at bullying the Arab American community. What good does it do to label an American organization  as controversial? There are more than 3.5 million Arab Americans in the United States, and they vote just like any other American. Something tells me the GOP did not win any votes by insulting the community and its leading organizations that stand for the US constitution. I urge the GOP not to stand for such tactics if they really wanted to win a national election again. Whether the nomination of Senator Chuck Hagel goes through is another conversation to have, but the GOP is already derailing the American democratic process and they are certainly not winning any friends in the process.

As for ADC and the community it represents, they will be around as we move forward and as the GOP continues on its road to self-destruction. With a growing population of minority voters, they will make sure there will be fewer GOP politicians. The GOP will only have themselves to thank for that.

The Arabic "I Drink Blood" Is Here غازى الأمير - لاشرب من دمو

This song is funny in a very bad way.... every time you start your sing by telling me, you want to drink someone else's blood, I laugh at you and weep for humanity. This is the idea of a good song by Ghazy Al Amir and his team. A song about him beating up people who dare to talk about his gal--whose dressed an a way that invites such comments.

I blame the vampire films for such notion, but then again, what he says here is something I used to hear people also say back home. Charlie Sheen jokes about it in 2011. He is looking like a beef cake, and very muscular and the American and the UK flag is on his shoulders. Then those are short shorts she is wearing and the song is about him asking her to marry him.

something tell me he is Syrian as his style is very much so. However, the quality of the music video tells me he might have had help in places like Lebanon. The beat of the song is very catchy, the music video is about flaunting what one has. Many looks and outfits are not limited to the ladies, as Ghazy changes so many of them during the music video.

I hate how Ghazy drives and gives this look on his face. I know he is a talented party and wedding singers. His voice and style are perfect for riots and huge events. But I feel this song--the lyrics and the music under-serve him. Maybe he should dress like a vampire and go on murdering rampage. Ghazy, you have something, go ahead and figure it out in your next project.

Divas Gotta Eat Angham New Single اغنية انغام - ياريت | تتر مسلسل فى غمضة عين

Egyptian all star Angham is one of the finest female voices in that country. She has been rocking it for about thirty years ever since she was a little girl with funny teeth that sang next to her father. Now that she has made it, and has a claimed a diva stature, she has to calculate every steps she makes. I like that she has been doing different songs, and she is now dabbling into acting with a TV drama.

She has also sang the soundtrack song, because what good being a diva is if you are not getting a check? The song is about things you want from life, less pain, more joy and off course easier life, and more love please. The drams which she co-starred in just begun to air. The other star is actress Dalia El Bihiri who has admitted that she has no chemistry with Angham, but nevertheless the had to work together despite their differences.

Somethings never change, among those things Angham's voice and delivery, she is always the same, for some this is a delight. I have enjoyed Angham's songs especially the bluesy ones. The new single style fits the style most want Angham to cover. Others have criticized her for doing pop computer affects songs. So, the melody for the title song is very Arabic and very fitting.

Listen: Diana Haddad - "Naam Seedi" ديانا حداد - نعم سيدي

Diana Haddad had a piece of gold late last year with a new romantic song in the Lebanese style she became famous for. We thought to ourselves, the hit-maker is back and she is bringing it all in style. And then came the buzz kill a new single that shatters our hopes in the revival of the old Diana Haddad. Maybe we were asking her too much when we want her to be herself all over again. Maybe that cute, loving and strong voiced lady never existed in the first place.

Why does she insist on making songs in local Khaliji (Gulf) dialects that no one likes and no one is asking for? Those songs suck on so many levels. For starter they are not all that great, and they bring none of the good sound quality we have come to expect from Diana. I would listen to any thing she sings, but if it's a song in the Khaliji dialect, I tell you this, I won't give it a second listen. And this is coming form a guy who like Khaliji songs.

"Yes, Sire" is the title of her new song, meant for the Gulf men, who think they own the world. She is happy to be there one of the boys, listening to their requests and conquering with it. It seems that Diana is unwilling to turn back the clock to her glory days. She wants local concert deals in the Gulf as well as wedding parties that come with a hefty paycheck and gifts.

I am reading this song is recorded in the local dialect of Kuwait  there are different shaded within the greater Gulf dialects.

Tomy Omran Murdred By His Gay Lover In Upcoming Music Video

Saudi-American pop star, model among other things Tomy Omran is talking u his next music project. He is filming a music video for a song he has recorded "Angels In The Sky"

For the story Tomy would tell an unconventional love story, he has a secret gay lover who has a crush on him, but Tomy likes this Brazilian girl and wants to get married her. So the secret gay lover is enraged and tries to break up the lovely love story. He tries to work on the girl's side trying to ruin her image of Tomy. Then he offered to give Tomy money to get him to change his ways, but Tomy does not buy it.

So, the obsessed gay lover does, the next logical thing, he murders Tomy. I know a lot of Saudis have talked about doing just that, because they Hate Tomy not love him. But sometimes those are the same thing. So the deranged lover murders Tomy in front of his future wife's eyes! To take revenge. The story is subtle so, if you do not know, you would not know unless told otherwise.

Stay classy Tomy, this is the last thing gay people need, you show them as murderers and crazy people, they already have tons of trouble, you are not making is easy for them. I know people are called you names before, so I do not know what the message here, and it seems from reading all those comments, I am hardly the only one.

Update:
I do realize that some people are a little sensitive when the issue of homosexuality and Saudi Arabia are in one sentence, there is passion on both sides of the debate. And yes, there are a lot of lies, denies and delusions on this matter. Tomy is addressing a problem as he sees it.

I think his foes just chill, he is an entertainer doing harm to no one. He is making the dance tracks that make sense to people who like European and Russian parties and DJs. Tomy has gone to lengths no other Saudi man has gone, he is kissing on camera. I also find his sense of style compelling. The back story requires some attention  but goes well with the theme and the general mood of the song. It's something different that most Arab sings feel like.

Behind The Scenes With Firecracker Haifa Wehbe

There's a time when Haifa Wehbe made a music video where they have used an airplane, she was scratched  a little bit in the filming and the media were first to send the pop hit-maker their well wishes. Haifa's career is based on her love for the spotlight, her clever ways of managing her business and knowing how to get attention.

There was an action sequence that felt fresh, see how Haifa got some glass on her face and she felt shaken as she filmed that big budget music video. Even if she has to faint, she does it in style and makes it look like a poor acting job.

She did a great job advertising the incident and some of her fans felt like wow this lady works so hard for to bring us her music videos. See the report on the accident and the actual music video.
