The Saudi company Rotana is busy signing up Arab artists to add them to their label. They are also busy finding themes for albums under which they can sell some of their old and new songs. The latest theme the marketing monkeys of the company could muster is a little bit risque. Not sure if the album will be available in Saudi Arabia, but I am sure it will be in Cairo and in Beirut.
"The Night Of Love" is the title of the album collection and guess what the first track is about a father singing to his son. Kids are often the product of relationship. I like the cover art, it plays to the ladies very well. A walk on the beach the sunset, flowers and a tall man in a suit! As for the song selections, the artist on the CD are from Lebanon--three artists, Syrian, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt--one artist.
I find it funny that in Saudi Arabia, romantic songs can only be made by Saudi guys--and not women. It's like Saudi women are not allowed to record songs talking about their feelings. But if the women are not Saudis-say Lebanese Elissa, it's OK!
